NYC PARTNERS WITH JETBLUE PILOT NEIL JUSTIN AND SLASPA TO HOST THE INAUGURAL YOUTH AVIATION SYMPOSIUM

Castries, Saint Lucia, Thursday, 16th April 2018. The Saint Lucia National Youth Council is delighted to
present the inaugural “Youth Aviation Symposium”. JetBlue Airways First Officer Neil Justin, of St. Lucian
parentage, in partnership with the Saint Lucia National Youth Council (NYC), Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports
Authority (SLASPA), and Facebook Group “Aviation Luvers — Helen and Beyond”, will be launching this new
initiative on May 5th and 6th, 2018. The symposium will take place at the Castries Comprehensive SecondarySchool’s auditorium and Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pilot Justinwill be joined by a cadre of young professionals employed within various industries abroad.
The program is designed to inspire and provide guidance for students interested in pursuing careers in the
aviation industry. All students and youth are welcomed however, as the symposium will offer personal
development guidance among other sessions.
A few of the scheduled sessions are as follows:
• Women Pilots
• The Life of a Flight Attendant
• How to Succeed in Your Education
• Serving Yourself and Your Community
• Flight Simulator Sessions
The Saint Lucia National Youth Council is excited to partner with First Officer Justin and his team to inspire
the young people of Saint Lucia by providing this hands-on career development experience. We are grateful to
all partners who came on board to ensure this project takes flight.
