Guy Joseph Minister for Economic Development, Housing, Urban Renewal, Transport and Civil Avocation, has applaud sandals for the contribution in its making to the country development, the resort has not operated as a selfish company.
The minister was addressing Wednesday ground- breaking ceremony for the latest sandals property in St.Lucia,’’ Sandals LaSource.’
According to the minister ‘this is meaningful in more than one way. It is not just the spill off that we are getting from the tourism workers in St. Lucia’’.
He honors the high standards that Sandals brought to the country.
Joseph stated that he could speak first hand because of the number of young people from St.Lucia and his Castries south east constituency in specific who gone throw the resort training programme to become certified workers in hospitality sector not just with sandals, but with any other hotel.
The minister explain that ‘’once you have been trained by sandals, then you become marketable within the tourism sector in St.Lucia’’.
‘’Sandals must be complimented for that because you have not operated as a selfish company who would see after only you having the good workers, but you have treated the entire industry in St.Lucia as part of your industry’’ Joseph stated.
‘’this is visionary and I must compliment management for taking that approach, because it is what help to build St.Lucia destination choice’’. He observed
The resort will offer 330 suites and will be located along Pigeon Island Beach and neighboring with Sandals Grande St.Lucia.
