The 15th Annual International Soca Awards

The 15th Annual International Soca Awards is scheduled to take place on July 10th 2018 in our beautiful island, St. Lucia. The award ceremony is themed ‘Taking Soca to Higher Heights- A Soca Vacation’.
Like the Grammys, Hip Hop Awards, BET Awards and others, the International Soca Awards takes on a similar approach. As said in the mission statement, the ceremony will ‘recognize and reward excellence and achievement in the Soca Music art form showcasing the extraordinary talents of Soca Music’s absolute best exponents, in an atmosphere of overwhelming glitz, glamour and excitement.’
 This event is stamped ‘The Premiere Event of the Soca Music Industry’.
 Young Trinidadian Entrepreneur, Collin Jackman, initiated the Soca Awards in 2003 where it served to develop, promote and preserve the cultural significance of Soca Music to our heritage as a people.
The Annual International Soca Awards which will kick off from 7pm with a pre red-carpet affair, will honour 5 of the regions most prestigious figured in the Soca music association: The Explainer, Destra Garcia, Edwin Yearwood, Invader and WCK. The 2018 St. Lucian Staging will be preceded by a number of activities to include the official welcome party at the popular Coconutz Restaurant & Entertainment Yard in Rodney Bay featuring entertainment from the nominees for International Soca Dj’s of the Year to include Private Ryan (TnT) International Stephen (St Lucia) Dr. Jay (Toronto) DJ Levi Chin (St. Lucia) DJ Spice (NY) and Back 2 Basic (NY)
The event is expected to take flight at Sandal’s St Lucian Grande. A very high profile international entertainment superstar is expected to be the “Special Invited Guest Presenter”.
Planned activities include a highly anticipated Awards after party dubbed ‘Saka Fete’ pegged with over four hours of high energy yielding main stage activity to feature performances by local, regional and international bands & artiste, as well as International Host & Dj’s which will set the pace into the Inaugural staging of the awards billed to be stationed in St Lucia for a period of 3 Years. Saka Fete will take place from 10pm to 3am on the Sandals Golf and Country Club.
