The island’s only facility for rehabilitation of persons who have found themselves into issues with the law made good in it’s presentation to the public, at it’s very first World Food Day Fair. The public showcasing of the products done by inmates inclusive of the first official showcasing of its signature Macabu Fig was well received. Communication officer at the facility Yasmine Peter spoke with our news team at the 2018 World food day fair activities, held at the Fon Dor National Historic Heritage Park on October 14, 2018. She said that everything that they had on display was produced on the farm at BCF. The inmates are allowed to work to develop and acquire skills so that upon reintegration they would have some kind of skill to rely on.
